This is the biggest myth of all…. We hear so many people say ‘Lash Extensions ruin your natural lashes’ – yes this is a myth, however, READ BELOW some important things to consider when it comes to your lash health & ensuring no damage is caused –
Lash Extensions will NOT ruin your natural lashes IF….
- They are applied correctly & by a certified reputable Lash Artist. Extensions should be applied individually to each lash & not clumped together, which can prevent unnecessary stress on the natural lashes. Do your research!
- The Lash Artist considers the current strength and condition of your natural lashes & what thickness & fullness your lashes can handle without causing any damage! – Mega Volumes & Volumes are NOT suitable for everyone & certainly not long-term. If this is you, consider using a Lash growth serum that is Lash Extension friendly to give those natural lashes a little boost!
- Length. EVERY certified & correctly trained Lash Artist is taught to consider the natural lash to extension-length ratio to ensure the natural lashes can handle it without causing any damage. If you have short natural lashes, you shouldn’t be having really long exertions applied.
- You follow ALL of your correct aftercare, especially not pulling or picking at your lashes.
In summary – No Lash Extensions do not ruin your Natural Lashes, however, poor application, overly heavy extensions, or improper aftercare can lead to damage, highlighting the importance of selecting a reputable lash artist and following their care instructions.
*Please bare in mind that all clients lash cycles are different and react in different ways. Your lash artist should be keeping an eye on the health of your natural lashes anyway and if they are seeming sensitive to having Extensions applied a lash growth serum may be recommended to provide an extra boost.
